I love to see the world through my camera. It gives me focus. Lately I find myself wanting to get closer and closer to what I see cherishing every detail. Flowers are an incredible metaphor for many things in life - they look so different on the surface, but their basic underlying purpose is the same - survival. In these photographs I strive to glorify the detail of these differences and the dance they do with the light that surrounds them. I hope you enjoy my personal vision!

Fucshia Cyclamen
Monterey California, January 2013 -
Cyclamen are a genus of plants containing 20 species, which are part of the family of Primulaceae, the Primrose family. In the wild, their distribution is centred on the mediterranean, being natives of parts of Europe, western Asia and parts of North Africa. They are tuberous plants and have no obvious affinity with Primroses, although they do resemble the North American Dodecatheon in having reflexed petals. (http://www.cyclamen.org/indexCS.html)
